60.11 East Side Kings

March 1, 2011

Why this place has not made a Trailer Tuesday sooner is beyond me, so here it is.

We all know that some Austinites like to put restaurants like Uchi on a pedestal (for good reason. It’s delicious). This place started out as a project from some of the chefs at Uchi, so these guys know what they’re doing. They serve up Asian fusion out of this trailer, and it’s fantastic! It deserves to have a cult following.

The food is all very good and powerfully addictive. I would recommend the chicken buns. They are out of this world. I’m not even a big fan of salad, but the brussel spout salad is a must-order. You’ll understand on your first bite. I wouldn’t be doing them justice unless I mentioned the beet fries, which are also tasty. That’s just the stuff I tried, but I’m sure everything on the menu is fantastic.

The place is pretty tough to find. They’re basically in an alley by The Liberty Bar’s back patio on East 6th Street. Even knowing that, it was so hard for me to track them down, but it was worth it. They definitely are kings in the kitchen.

Important note: Cash only!
