54.11 Rooftop Architecture Film Series at Arthouse

February 23, 2011

I love anything that involves a rooftop — pools, restaurants, bars, and in this case, movies. There’s something unique about being on a rooftop. It’s nice to enjoy the view once in a while. I know it’s a pretty grey morning, but like yesterday, I think the sun is going to come out this afternoon and make for a great night up on the roof.

The Rooftop Architecture Film Series is a series of documentaries that take a closer look at various architects and their projects.

Tonight’s screening is Koolhaas Houselife. It’s the story of Rem Koolhaas and his project to accommodate a man confined to a wheelchair.

For those interested in architecture and/or film-making, this is a really cool experience. The film-makers will actually be in attendance, and they’ll have a Q & A following the screening.

Admission: $10, Arthouse members free

Time: 7 p.m., Rooftop opens at 5:30

700 Congress Ave.
Austin, Texas 78701
