36.11 Mock Surgery Day and More at Seton Hospital

February 5, 2011

I have no idea why this event fascinates me. Maybe in another life I was meant to be a doctor. As a kid I used to love to play doctor (don’t laugh). For countless hours I would “operate” on my poor sister. However, Kristy Owen, M.D. was never in my cards. The sight of blood makes me nauseous.

This event seems like one big science project that adults and kids could enjoy. Here’s your chance to see first-hand what actually happens behind the closed doors of an operating room!

They’ll have operating rooms set up with mock-up’s of various surgical procedures, hands-on demonstrations with surgical equipment and professionals explaining how they do amazing work every day.

Time: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Price: FREE

Location:
Clinical Education Center
1400 North 1-35
Austin, Texas 78701
