24.11 The Park at Brushy Creek

January 24, 2011

I was out of town this weekend, hence the unusual posting times on the blogs the past few days. Thank you for going with it. I was in Scottsdale for some car auctions. It was awesome. They announced the 2011 Indy Pace Car is going to the 2011 Camaro Convertible, which is really cool. I could go on and on about how it’s always one of my favorite weekends of the year. Thank you dad for a great trip. I had a fabulous time away, but it is always, always so great to be home. It never gets old coming back to Austin, Texas.

Being away from Austin means I’m also away from my dog, Brady, and that’s never fun. So as a reward for him being good while I was away, I have to take him to one of his favorite places — Brushy Creek Park. He loves it. While the off-leash area is unofficial, there are plenty of areas for your dog to run wild and mingle with others.

It’s also a great park for families! They have a playground, water playscape, hike and bike trails and more. The coolest part for families is probably the massive sandbox that has concrete “dinosaur fossils” in it for kids to find. They also have a huge man-made lake where you can take out a canoe or even go fishing.

Needless to say, it’s fun for everyone and another cool place to visit north of the river!
