10.11 Bouldin Creek Coffee House & Café

I hope everyone is ready for the cold weather this week has in store for us. Speaking of the cold, the Town Lake Animal Shelter is in need of extra blankets and towels to help deal with this arctic chill. Help them keep those animals warm!

Now on to two things that keep humans warm, hot chocolate and coffee. Cold weather always makes me want some coffee, and Bouldin Creek is a great place to get it.

The main reason I wanted to blog on this place is because the café menu is ALL vegetarian. The food is delicious. Even if you’re not a vegetarian (and I’m not), there are plenty of great options for anyone. I think the hummus is probably my favorite. They also make a pretty mean breakfast taco. Breakfast tacos always make Monday mornings more bearable!

Longtime Bouldin Creek lovers will know that they’ve moved, but the new location still has all the old charm and is much more accommodating. I know there’s been some controversy over the new location, but for the most part, I’m firm believer that change is a good thing. It still embodies everything everyone loves about South Austin. It’s relaxed, unique and eccentric.

Heads up — if you’re in a rush on your morning commute it might not be the best stop for you. They don’t have the fastest service in town.
