8.11 Tribute to The King at the Continental Club

January 8, 2011

Happy Birthday to the King!

Today is dedicated to Austin’s Elvis lovers, and tribute shows don’t get any better than this one. Twice a year (once on his birthday and once on the day he died), Ted Roddy and his band pay homage to Mr. Presley.

This show attracts Elvis fans of all ages. The first set relives his early years, and the second set is a Vegas-style Elvis show with a horn section and backup singers. You’ll feel like you’re minutes away from Graceland.

We have Steve from my office to thank for this suggestion, as he’s been going for years.

Long live live music in Austin, and long live the King!

Show Time: 3 p.m. (the late show is sold out!)

Location:
The Continental Club
1315 South Congress Ave
Austin, Texas 78704

Lastly, I want to wish a happy wedding day to a childhood best friend. Chaysen, I wish you and Josh a lifetime of happiness! I can’t wait to celebrate!
