2.11 Red River Free Week

January 2, 2011

It’s day two of the New Year, and with tomorrow being Monday, I feel like this is the official end of a great holiday season.

As the blog starts over with the New Year, I wanted to clarify the number system. I added “.11” after the list item number so that people don’t get this list confused with last year’s!

Today’s list item is actually a week of free live music. Free Week started in 2003 at Emo’s and has kept growing ever since. Now more than ten downtown venues participate and most are in walking distance of each other. It’s a great opportunity to get out there and discover some local talent. This is your chance to check out multiple shows in one night and do it all for free!

Live music, especially free live music, is what Austin is all about. It’s a great way to start the year off right! Get ready, this is only the first of many more music festivals and events that 2011 has in store.

When: now – Sunday, January 9th

Location:
Red River Street
Downtown
