339. Ballet Austin’s The Nutcracker

December 5, 2010

So many things just get me in the holiday mood, but the Nutcracker is one of those traditions that just screams Christmas.

I’m blogging on this on opening weekend so that you can plan ahead and see if you can find a night that works for your family. Who can’t get enough of sugar plumb fairies and toy soldiers?

This is Ballet Austin’s 48th year of the Nutcracker! This is one of those signuature Christmas things that I cannot get enough of, or maybe it is just the famous “Russian Dance” song from the play that I am always hearing on the radio over the holidays. Either way something about the ballet just exudes the magic of Christmas.  For those that have not seen Austin’s Nutcracker, it is a show that kids that love Christmas over the age of 5ish (ballpark guess here?) would enjoy!

Having seen the Nutcracker at a few different places throughout the years – I have to say Ballet Austin does an amazing job, the costumes, dancing, the venue comes together to make an unforgettable night. The talent that Ballet Austin attracts it truly amazing, great job everyone that comes together to make this show happen.

Visit their website for dates/times/tickets as it is playing throughout the rest of the month.

I know, I know that if you have a family of 4 that this could be a very expensive night out! This company is having a drawing for orchestra seating tickets in sets of 4 – for more information, visit their website!
