320. The Jalopy Rotisserie & Press

November 16, 2010

It’s Trailer Tuesday again! Time goes so fast! This is one of those trailers that seems to have a cult following and I finally know why — it’s pure deliciousness out of a trailer! Plus, they get major points for participating in the Tasty Bite Charity Week (see below for details) that benefits the Capital Area Food Bank.

I keep saying this, but Austin is taking trailer food dining by storm. You really can find almost anything and everything in trailers, which I think is really cool.

Their sandwiches are truly remarkable, but they also have all of my favorite drinks from growing up, which is awesome. They have stuff like cream soda, ginger ale and RC Cola. I also get a kick out of the “sandwich chute.”

They feature a ton of unique and seemingly random menu options, with everything from chicken & waffles to Thai sandwiches. I recommend you start your Jalopy experience with the “original” and take it from there. You will be coming back for more. They also have three vegetarian options that look great!

Little trivia — the owner is a McCombs School of Business grad, so get out there and support the locals!

Discount seekers: follow them on twitter because they’re always giving away chances for free food and other fun stuff! @ JalopyAustin

15th & San Antonio Street

I’m also excited to announce this week a program that some trailers are doing (3 of the 4 trailers have already been a Trailer Tuesday!). Tasty Bite has paired with the below trailers to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. Now through November 21st stop by one of these trailers and ask for the “Tasty Bite Special” and $2 will be donated to the food bank! So those that have been wanting to check out some trailers this is your week, and it’s all for a good cause!
