312. Saxon Pub

Saxon Pub is one of those Austin gems that every Austinite and music lover needs to try. It offers some of the best music in the city and is a true Austin tradition. The setting is great for live music. It’s dark, very intimate, and just has a special feel, which is why musicians have been coming from all over the country to play there for decades and decades.

They bring in some music legends. I like to go on Mondays because Bob Schneider plays every week at 8:30. Anyone that knows anything about Austin music knows that Bob Schneider is a local favorite. Guy Forsyth is also another local mainstay that plays a ton of shows at Saxon Pub.

There is normally a small cover charge (around $5), but every day they have a free happy hour show.

I think most music lovers in town already know about Saxon Pub, but those that are visiting or new to Austin, make this your next stop when you want to go see some live music.
