308. Shrek the Musical

November 4, 2010

I must admit that I’m not too crazy about musicals, or even the movie Shrek, as cartoons aren’t exactly up my alley. However, the one thing that I do remember from Shrek was that it featured the song by the The Monkees, “I’m a believer.” I love that song. And even if it’s not my cup of tea, I know Shrek strikes a chord with both kids and adults, so I think it would be a great show to see with the family.

The musical has received rave reviews. It’s supposed to be full of energy, laughter, dancing and plenty of the music we all love. In 2009, it was nominated for eight Tony Awards including Best Musical. USA Today calls it “altogether irresistible,” and “a big fat hit!” Needless to say, it has all the makings of a great night at the theatre.
