282. Make-A-Wish Texas Classic Car Show

October 9, 2010

I’ve been excited to blog on this for awhile now.

If there’s one thing that Austin doesn’t have enough of, it’s classic car shows. The blood in my veins really gets flowing when I think about ’69 z-28’s, GTOs and Stingrays. Every Friday night growing up, my family and I would go eat at a local Mexican restaurant and then we’d go to a classic car show. Those old cars just get me so excited!

It was as if the big guy in the sky was listening to my thoughts one day, because I kept trying to find a place in Austin to go admire the clean lines and raw horsepower of some American muscle cars, and then I heard about Make-A-Wish’s Texas Classic Car Show. Thank you, Lauren. Classic cars benefiting a good cause, really what more could you ask for?

The car show is today at another Austin favorite — Rudy’s Country Store & BBQ. Remember that it’s 100% dedicated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas. Last year they had over 300 cars – including classic, muscle, antique and exotic cars!

The event is free to the public! If anything, look at this as a great alternative to the madness, craziness and chaos of downtown Austin and ACL festivities.

Lastly, if you’re up North my other friend has a patient that is dire need of new lungs, so they are having a car wash to raise money for him. The bake sale/car wash for him is at 1st Texas Bank in Round Rock (500 Round Rock Ave) from 9:00-1:00. Acalia, my hot little blonde friend, will be there to personally scrub your car for a good cause!!/photo.php?fbid=1536935917193&set=t.126737290707685

When: Today

Time: 9:00am-4:00pm
