271. Chris’ Little Chicago

September 28, 2010

Trailer Tuesday comes around so fast, and this weather we’re having is perfect for sitting outside and enjoying all the terrific trailer food Austin has to offer. Chris’s Little Chicago is one of the best places to get a hot dog in town, and Austin Chronicle readers agreed, as it was voted Best Hot Dog Wagon in 2009.

I love hot dogs. They remind me of getting a dog at the ballpark when I was little. And although I’ve never been to Chicago, my friends tell me a Chicago dog at Chris’ stacks up pretty well against the real thing. If you’re not in the mood for a dog, they also offer another Chicago classic — the Italian beef sandwich.

If you haven’t had one, you need to do yourself a favor and order it “baptized” in their special sauce and stuffed with sweet and hot peppers. It’s amazing!

The service is always fast and friendly, and it’s a great place for groups as they have plenty of seating.

Here’s a hint: visit the “specials” section of their website to print various coupons. http://www.chrislittlechicago.com/clc_specials.html
