174. Black Sheep Lodge

June 23, 2010

World Cup Time again, Go USA. If you are lucky enough to have a job that lets you can get out for the morning and head out and catch the game with friends, this is a great locally owned and operated stop – they start the party at 8:00am.

The breakfast buffet gets going at 8:30, so come hungry and in your best USA get-up. It is laid out great so no matter where you are sitting  (for the most part) you have a view at one of their big screen TVs. I like them because they serve frozen margaritas, you can also get a glass of wine, choose from one of their 20 beers on tap or over 75 bottled beers.  Out front they have a great outdoor patio that is PET FRIENDLY.

Those of you out there that love bar games they have pool, shuffleboard, and darts.

Non World Cup News, they were named #27 Best Burger in Texas by Austin Monthly magazine in 2009. Texas is a big place so that’s a high honor.

I have been there on more than one occasion and think it is a great South Austin stop in 78704. Easy, casual, good, makes the grade. Plus they open early and are ready to start serving Cold Ones for the World Cup.

Location:
2108 South Lamar Blvd.
Austin, Texas 78704
