45. Mangia Pizza – Heart Shaped Pizza

I am anti Valentine’s Day so as mushy gushy as I am going to go today is the Mangia Pizza’s Heart Shaped Pizza.  Who doesn’t love pizza and for the love of holiday spirit it’s also heart shaped!  

I am going to start by saying I have never been to Chicago so I really cannot comment on how similar it is to authentic Chicago Style pizza but as far as I am concerned it does make the grade.  They also have traditional and thin pizzas but the Chicago style is what they are known for.

Mangia was founded in Austin in 1988 and has been an Austin favorite ever since then. Since opening it has won the “Best Pizza in Austin” in the Austin Chronicle ‘s Readers poll over 5 times.  It has also been a question on Jeopardy (AWESOME, right?), was in the movie “Man of the House,” on ESPN 2, and recognized in several other national publications and shows.
